04/16: Scientific day on Marine avifauna: diversity, ecology and interaction with fishery

SPA/RAC present to the scientific day on avifauna

SPA/RAC participated to the scientific event "Marine Avifauna: Diversity, Ecology and Interaction with Fishery" held on the 7th April 2016 at “Cité des Sciences”, Tunis, Tunisia. This working day was organized in the framework of the project TRIBAL "TRophic ecology and Impacts of Bycatch on the Avifauna communities of Zembra archipeLago ", funded by the TOTAL Foundation and implemented by the National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia (INAT) in collaboration with the Institute for Development Research (IRD) and the Agency for Coastal Protection and Management (APAL).

On the occasion of this day, Ms. Lobna BEN NAKHLA, Program Officer in charge of species conservation at SPA/RAC, presented the "Action Plan for the conservation of bird species listed in Annex II of the Protocol on Specially Protected Areas and Biological Diversity”. Moreover, she emphasized on the involvement of SPA/RAC in the conservation of marine birds listed in the SPA/BD protocol, at both national and regional levels, through a participatory approach involving Scientists, managers and policy makers.
