03/13: Presentation of the guide on the identification of migratory north-African waterbirds
On Saturday, March the 2nd, 2013, a guide on the identification of migratory north-African waterbirds has been presented at Tunis (Tunisia) by the Association "Les Amis des Oiseaux".
This work is the first naturalist guide in arab language dedicated to migratory North-African waterbirds.
This guide, co-produced by the Association "Les Amis des Oiseaux" and the french "Office National de la Chasse et de la Faune Sauvage" (ONCFS), was elaborated thanks to the financial support of the MAVA foundation for the nature and the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy.
This pocket guide is a tool to implement the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) and allows the identification of almost 200 waterbird species occurring from the Northern Soudan to Mauritania, including Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
