Call for sub-grants to involve Civil Society Organizations in the management and sustainable development of the Tyre Coast Nature Reserve

 

 

 

 

The overall objective of this call for sub-grant proposals is to involve local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the management and sustainable development in and around SPAMIs (Specially Protected Areas of Mediterranean Importance), through financial support for the implementation of on-field activities such as the development and implementation of ecological and/or socio-economic monitoring schemes, organisation of awareness raising events on monitoring in the SPAMI, preparation of short videos and other visual material for dissemination of the results, sustainable development activities particularly sustainable tourism, organisation of pilot events on sustainable tourism in the SPAMI, etc.

Around 4 sub-grants worth each a maximum of €10,000 are planned to be funded for activities in the Tyre Coast Nature Reserve and surrounding areas.

  • Around two sub-grants are intended to involve local CSOs in the management of the SPAMI Tyre Coast Nature Reserve.  The aim of these sub-grants is to involve local CSOs in the management and sustainable development in and around the SPAMI, through the implementation of on-field activities, to ensure a more effective SPAMI management.
  • Around two sub-grants are intended to involve local CSOs from Tyre City aiming at funding activities linked to sustainable development of socio-economic activities and ICZM in the above-mentioned city coastal zones.

The deadline for this call is 30th May 2022, 14h (Lebanon time)
