The sustainable management if tourism was identified as one of the priority issues by the managers of MPA in the Mediterranean within the framework of the MedPAN project.The aim of the workshop was to discuss this issue and to encourage exchange of experiences on the sibject, particulary as regards the following aspects :- Planning of tourism development- Spreading out the tourist season- Monitoring visitation and its impacts on the environment- Use of charters and regulations to manage uses- Management of different types of tourist activities- Carrying capacity- Spin-off economic benefits for the local surrounding areaIn presenting the proceedings of this workshop our aim is to provide a global biew of the pratices adopted in Mediterranean MPAs. This compilation the most signicant excerpts from presentations grouped together in 4 parts:1- An overall view of tourism in Mediterranean MPAs and a general introduction to tourism planning in the MPAs.2- The establishment and the maangement of sustainable tourism activities illustrated by several case studies from within the MedPAN network3- Planning of tourism development discussed in working groups.4- Vistor management and the concept of carrying capacity debated in working groups.La gestion durable du tourisme est l'un des enjeux proritaires identifiés par les gestionnaires d'AMP en Méditerranée dans le cadre du projet MedPAN.Ceta telier avait pour objectif de débattre de cet enjeu et de favoriser les échanges d'expérience en la matière, notamment sur les points suivants:- Plannification du developpement touristique- Etalement de la saison touristique- Suivi de la fréquentation et de ses impacts sur l'environnement- Usage des chartes et de la réglementation dans la gestion des usages- Gestion différentes des activités touristiques- Capacité de charge- Retombées économique sur le territoire localNotre but
